Synopsis:

The aim of the course is to introduce students to the basics of Czech language and build on knowledge gained in the course Czech language for foreigners 1. Basic grammar rules, vocabulary and an introduction to Czech syntax are presented. Through the lessons, students will gain a base with which to engage in simple conversations in daily situations.

written test (minimum of 55% required), attendance and active participation

Lesson 1: revision of Czech language for foreigners 1

Lesson 2: in a restaurant, nominative case of adjectives in singular

Lesson 3: demonstrative pronouns, menu

Lesson 4: „jaký/jaká/jaké“, listening about ordering food

Lesson 5: verbs and phrases „dát si“, „mít rád/a“ + accusative case, E-conjugation

Lesson 6: revision of verbs, ordering food

Lesson 7: numbers 100 - 10 000, asking about price

Lesson 8: shoping, family lexis

Lesson 9: family, talking about age, possessive pronouns

Lesson 10: informal letter, OVAT-conjugation

Lesson 11: accusative case of animate masculines, adjectives

Lesson 12: colours, revision, Riskuj! game
